How does this tool detect blank pages?
The tool uses MuPDF WebAssembly to extract text from each page. A page is considered blank if it contains no text content (or only whitespace). This catches pages that are visually empty even if they have invisible formatting metadata.
What about nearly-blank pages with just a header or page number?
Pages that contain only a page number or a very short header (2 characters or fewer) may be flagged as blank. If you need to keep such pages, use the Extract Pages tool to manually select the pages you want to keep.
Will it remove scanned white pages (image-only blank pages)?
Scanned white pages (blank pages stored as images rather than text) may not be detected because the tool checks for text content. Image-only blank pages appear identical to content pages from a text-extraction perspective.
Can I preview which pages will be removed before downloading?
The tool processes the PDF and reports how many blank pages were removed. For manual control over exactly which pages are kept, use the Extract Pages tool to select pages visually.
Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
